(An Example of Hype..probably photoshop)
HYPE- 1)To Stimulate, excite, or agitate; 2) To create interest in by flamboyant ordramatic methods; promote or publicize showily; 3) to intensify advertising, promotion, publicity by ingenious or questionable claims, methods; 4) To Trick, Hoopla, Swindle, deception.
At the end of the day we all contribute to the hype from your consumer, blogger, reseller, corporation, retailer, entertainer, etc. It's in the foundation of business/commerce; in order to sell a product it needs to be marketed/promoted. So why do we make a big deal out of "HypeBeast"? Last time I checked it was an online mag HypeBeast.com . But the term HypeBeast carries a negative vibe to it. (no relation to the website).
HypeBeast- " A person that collects clothing, shoes, and accessories for the sole purpose of impressing." - Urban Dictionary
If this definition is correct and you are worrying about impressing someone based on your material things; take the time out to evaluate your priorities. Enjoy life and everything in it, once it's over so are your materials.
Take the Hype for what it is..Promotion. Don't Feed into the Drama and let it define who you are.

There have been endless movies, recounts, and documentaries retelling the life stories and impacts of certain persons of interest in our mainstream affluenced society. Whether these persons' stories are put on film because of their fame or infamy, we have been told these stories...even learned to hold them to a certain sacredness when it comes to the big screen; but then enters Thelonius Hands. Thelonious Hands is a film directed by my frat brother Dubois Ashong depicting the life, time, and contributions of a not-so-known jazz musician. This movie is not a typical depiction of the jazz great or is it solely based on homage, rather it brings a method to his madness, straightening owt the thoughts that most geniuses are consumed by. Check owt the promo trailer and tell me what you think. B.Griff
